Vegan Crab Rangoons
Vegan Crab Rangoons
Ingredients:
-Vegan Wonton Wrappers
-Non-stick spray
-Small bowl of water for sealing wrappers
Filling:
-1/4 cup vegan cream cheese
-1 stock heart of palm, diced (about 1/4 cup)
-1 sheet of nori, finely teared/shredded
-1 1/2 tablespoons minced onion
-1 tablespoon nutritional yeast
-1 teaspoon minced garlic
-1/2 teaspoon sugar
The following to taste:
-Black Pepper
-Salt
Directions:

Prepare the filling. Place cream cheese, onion, salt, pepper, garlic, nutritional yeast, sugar, and nori into a bowl. Stir to combine

Fold in heart of palm

Assemble the crab rangoons. Place a tablespoon of filling in the center of the wonton wrapper. Using your finger and a small bowl of water, line the edges of the wrapper with water. Take one corner of the wrapper and fold the wonton diagonally, making a triangle. Press the sides to seal

Gently spray both sides of the crab rangoons with non-stick spray and bake in the oven at 400º until brown on both sides (approximately 20 minutes).

Serve with dipping sauce of choice (I used Sweet Chili Sauce).
Notes:
-
I air fried my crab rangoons to achieve a more crispy texture. This is highly recommended.

You can also deep fry these, which would mimic their traditional way of preparation.
