Vegan Taffy Apple

Vegan Taffy Apples

 

Ingredients

 

-1 medium Apple of choice (I used Gala), washed

-1 3.5 oz package of Cocomels Original Caramels or other vegan caramel of choice

-3/4 cup Peanuts

-1 1/2 tablespoon Plant Milk

-1 Wooden Skewer

 

Directions

 

  1. Using a sharp knife, finely chop the peanuts. Place peanuts on a small plate

  2. Unwrap the entire package of caramels and place them into a microwave safe bowl. Add milk

  3. Microwave caramels in 30 second intervals, stirring the caramel in between each interval. Repeat until caramels are melted. Set aside for a few minutes to cool

  4. Remove the stem from the apple. Break the skewer in half, using the half with the sharp end. Place the sharp end of the skewer into the center of the apple, where the stem once was

  5. Place the apple in the bowl with the melted caramel and generously coat the apple. Use a spoon or knife to help control the mess and to make this step easier

  6. Roll the coated apple in the chopped peanuts

  7. Place in the fridge for a few minutes to set
