Vegan Jamaican Fried Dumpling

Vegan Fried Dumpling

 

Ingredients:

 

-2 1/2 cups All Purpose Flour

-2 tablespoons Baking Powder

-2 tablespoons Vegan Butter

-2 tablespoons Sugar

-1 tablespoon Salt

-1 cup Plant Milk of choice (plus additional if needed)

-Oil for frying

 

Directions:

 

  1. Place all of the dry ingredients in a large bowl and stir well to combine. Using your hands, “cut” the butter into the flour by breaking up the butter and evenly distributing the it throughout the flour

  2. Add the milk gradually, stirring the flour in between. Continue to add the milk until the dough comes together. Then, use your hands to knead the dough until it forms a ball and no longer sticks to your hands

  3. Grabbing 1-2 inch pieces, roll the dough into a ball and flatten slightly into a disc. Fry until golden brown.
